I'm pleased to announce the next meeting of the Stonewall Democrats of SW Florida will be on Sunday afternoon August 23rd from 2:00 – 4:00 PM at the brand new Holiday Inn, located on the northeast corner of I-75 and the Alico Road Exit (9931 Interstate Commerce Dr.).

I have negotiated the use of one of their conference rooms and they will be supplying us with a nice assortment of goodies to snack on - along with coffee, hot tea and water. They also have a full (cash) bar available for those who also may wish to enjoy a cocktail or two.

We have a lot to cover this time:

- The installation and introduction of your new board of officers
- Finalization of our scheduled meetings and events for next year
- A Recap of the “Stonewall … 40 years of PRIDE” Celebration
- A Review of the Summer GLBT conference in Key West
- Information on the GLBT March for Equality in Washington D.C. this October
- And as usual, a full plate of candidates hoping for your support and votes.

Pete Burkert: Democratic Candidate for Florida State Senate (District 27 - Dave Aronberg's seat)
Lydia Lowell-Sherman: Candidate for Fort Myers City Council, Ward 5
Teresa Watkins-Brown: Candidate for Fort Myers City Council, Ward 1
Dana Pierce: Candidate for Fort Myers City Council, Ward 1
The third Democrat running for Fort Myers City Council in Ward 1 - Vilmar Ribeiro,
was also invited - but has not confirmed.

I look forward to seeing all of you there, bring your ideas, your questions - and a friend!
